Ellie is 5 Months Old! | Ellie Mae Today

You may have noticed that the blog has been a little bit quiet as of late, and that’s because I’ve been taking some time after a crazy fall season & the holidays to really dive into what I want my business to represent, to figure out what a good work life balance looks like for me, and to be intentional and present in everyday life! More on that another time, though!

TODAY our Ellie Mae is 5 months old…so I’m using it as an excuse to post some fun photos of her to the blog ;)

Here’s a little update on her likes, dislikes, and shenanigans :)

-Ellie LOVES to retrieve! She’s really started to get the hang of playing fetch, and it’s so much fun!

-She loves retrieving so much that any time ANYONE comes to our house (Robert and I included) she runs to the door with a toy of ‘greeting’ … and her little tail wags and wags and wags! It’s SO precious! She’ll even bring you a present if you’ve left the room for any period of time (we’re talking 10 minutes!) Robert will be upstairs, I head down to the basement to do some laundry, and when I come back up, I get a full on Ellie Mae greeting…and it’s adorable!

-She no longer potties in the house!!! (I probably just jinxed myself!! But really, it’s been about 2 months since her last accident!) YAY!

-She HAS started chewing (and trying to eat) ALL OF THE THINGS! So, we’re having to keep an even closer eye on her than usual! Little rascal. We just keep repeating the mantra “this too shall pass” because it will, and one day we’ll miss these puppy days! :)

-She loves to snuggle…sometimes (read: all day every day) she tries to be a lap dog, and it’s so cute! We sit on the floor with her every day so that we get our snuggle time without her getting on the furniture! At our house furniture is for people and nice doggy beds are for puppies. I’m not sure she agrees with us.

-She has a little bit of a ‘teenager’ attitude going on right now! If we ask her to do something she doesn’t want to do she gives us her ‘look’ and it’s so hard not to laugh! We’re being consistent with her training, and she always ends up doing as we ask, but she’s loving to test us these days! This too shall pass :)

-She’s become our little guard dog…those two front paws are often up on the bench that sits in front of our picture window, and she lets us know if anyone is on the road!

-She loves to nap by our space heater…and we have to turn it way down (to where it’s basically just blowing air) so that she doesn’t get overheated. I think she’d sit there all day if we let her!

-She has lost all but ONE puppy tooth!! Most of her adult teeth have come in and they are pearly white and beautiful…and strong! Which is why we’re having to watch her with toys…she loves to grind things in her molars!

-I’ve found myself calling her ‘munchie’ (short for munchkin, I guess…I’m not sure how or when it happened, but it did!) almost as much as I use her name! It’s actually pretty fitting considering her chewing lately ;)

-Finally, we found last weekend that she LOVES the snow!! She loves eating it, running in it, diving in it…it’s SO MUCH FUN! And I had so much fun snapping some photos of her first snow day! :)

More Ellie Mae updates soon!

A little bit of that teenage pup 'tude! ;)

The LOOK! ;)

Snout full of snow!

Playful pup!!

Ellie has so much fun playing with her daddy in the snow! He threw snowballs and she'd try to catch and chase them!
